Fans of Mzansi Magic’s drama, Gqeberha: The Empire, are in shock as the show’s second and last season finishes on Friday.
The program is set in Gqeberha, Eastern Cape, and follows the Mxenge family as they deal with love, power, and betrayal. The Tshedza Pictures-produced telenovela, which premiered in January 2023, explored themes like dynasty, treachery, polygamy, and jealousy.
Gqeberha: The Empire starred Bongile Mantsai, Zandile Msutwana, Anele Matoti, and Unathi Guma. Shirley Adonisi, Head of Local Entertainment Channels at M-Net, praised the series’ production crew and thanked the Eastern Cape Provincial Government for their critical assistance, which has allowed the production to thrive.

The telenovela is set to wrap up on the 10th of January.
