The highly anticipated reality show The Real Black Pearl, starring Pearl Thusi, has officially begun, but not everyone is impressed.
Pearl Thusi, a media personality, has dabbled in a variety of new enterprises in recent months, including podcasting and DJing, as well as her upcoming comedy roast. She has also recently published her highly anticipated reality series, The Real Black Pearl. The show’s debut episode premiered on BET on Saturday, November 9.
In a previous statement, Pearl underlined that the show wanted to present fans with an up close and personal insight into her life and who she is outside of the glitz and glam.
“I want my fans to see that behind the headlines and trending topics, I am just like anyone else on a journey to be my best self; navigating the challenges and joys that unite us all. The Real Black Pearl isn’t just my story—it’s a story about growth, authenticity and finding your truth, and I hope it inspires others to embrace their own paths.”
However, with two episodes already aired, viewers expressed unhappiness with the content. This comes when Musa Khawula, a former Twitter blogger, released the show’s trailer on his X account.
Following his post, many have taken to the comment section highlighting that with two episodes in, they feel that the show lacks depth and felt that this made it boring.
With many more episodes still to be aired, there might be an opportunity for the opinions of the viewers to change.
