After her treatment, Mbau posted a video with a message describing how her face felt like it was “wrapped in cling wrap.” She conveyed joy and hope for the outcome despite the initial discomfort. Mbau told her followers on her verified Instagram account that she was recovering well from her surgery.
“So I am literally a few hours out of surgery. I think it’s been about four hours since surgery. I’ve only started getting my life back. As you can see I’m super swollen. I’m okay,” Mbau updated her followers.
The video was also posted on the official Instagram account of Maphephandaba, a celebrity gossip and entertainment blog, which sparked a variety of responses. While some commentators congratulated Khanyi Mbau for being transparent about the surgeries, others thought that face surgery would soon become the new norm.
