Popular actor Ernest Msibi reveals that he is desperate for a job.

Ernest Msibi, a well-known actor in South Africa, played Chester on Yizo Yizo. The formerly well-known actor now feels rejected by the entertainment business. The Soweto native, 52, told the publication that he finds it difficult to get acting roles.

“I don’t know what is happening. I go to the auditions, but I don’t get callbacks. I don’t know why I’m being sidelined like this. People are still celebrating me when they see me. But it’s hard now in this industry. Maybe people want to talk good things about me when I’m dead, but they’re failing to help me now that I’m still alive,” said Ernest.

According to what the media has gathered, Ernest’s need to act caused him to get involved in politics. The uMkhonto Wesizwe (MK) party structures in Mpumalanga are said to be his workplace. However, the actor insisted that he travelled to Mpumalanga to assist there, asserting that he would never leave the performing business for anything, not even politics.

“I have acting projects that I invented but I’m still looking for funding. I also visit schools to motivate using comedy. I hope that I will get the funding. That won’t only help me, but others whose doors have been closed on them. The situation is sad and painful,” he said.

After that, he joined Uzalo, where he took on the role of Amos. After Gomora supposedly fired him, he proceeded to play Mohato there while his duty was suspended. Afterward, he returned to Uzalo. He then vanished from view on the small screen. Ernest stated that he still has faith and that something will materialise shortly.

“I’m not going to give up. Acting is my talent, and I won’t give up on it. I believe that doors are still going to open,” he said.
