Actor Carlo Radebe addressed the current story about him in a recent podcast episode. The unconfirmed rumour first appeared on social media in April 2024 and included tweets offering financial assistance and acting gigs for the actor, along with a purported bank account number intended to “assist” with his recovery.
The well-known actor from Generations and Backstage, who was known for his dramatic on-screen persona and performances, got caught up in a real-life issue involving false information.
“No, I have not been homeless,” Radebe stated in an interview this week with Podcast and Chill. With a flair for the dramatic that has always charmed audiences, Radebe turned the tables on the insinuation, stating that although he had been going through some rough times at work, the fact that he was living on the streets was untrue. He claims that by showing him as absent and unprepared, the media damaged his reputation and any chance for support from others.
He thanked everyone who got in touch with him after reading the post and gave him money, which helped him for three months. He expressed his gratitude on Twitter for spreading the word about him and bringing in some incredible donations. Recounting some of his financial regrets, he tells Podcast and Chill host MacG that although he has never wasted money on lavish things, he regrets not making investments when he was still an actor.
In addition, Radebe says he doesn’t care about landing a major role he just wants to keep performing, even if he only gets one callback.
