Isono former actress Didintle Khunou reportedly joins ‘Generations: The Legacy’

 South African actress Didintle Khunou, who is best known for her acting roles as ‘Mapula’ on Mzansi Magic’s Setswana telenovela The Throne and ‘Esther Ndlovu’ on BET Isono, has reportedly bagged herself an acting gig in SABC1’s long-running soap opera Generations: The Legacy.

An insider from the soap opera tells the publication that she received an offer she couldn’t turn down after being contacted by producers.

Khunou has only told her immediate family and close friends about the good news, a source close to her informs the publication.Everything was done behind closed doors. The source continues, “They were completing minor aspects of her contract; even her soon-to-be employers are excited to see her on the serial opera.

To revitalise the soap opera, the journal also reports that the show has invested in a group of dynamic and youthful creatives. According to reports, Khunou is one of the new faces joining the show.

The 31-year-old actress has also starred in numerous more films, including Mamello, Soon Comes Night, Isono, and A Soweto Love Story, according to TVSA. Following Kope Makgae’s departure from Generations: The Legacy, the gifted actress Didintle Khunou is the newest celebrity to join the cast.Makgae, who played Mrekza for a number of years, has taken on the character Mosa in e.tv’s Isiphetho: Destiny.

According to the SABC, actors Karabo Maseko, Zizipho Buti, Rebaone Kgosimore, and Buntu Petse confirmed their departure from the show in 2023.

“The characters of Tracy, Paul, Luyolo, Nontle, and Luyolo will remain on screen until the end of November or the beginning of December, when a gripping story arc comes to an incredible conclusion.”
