Incredible things to know about Kini Shandu who plays ‘Ndlovu’ on Umkhokha: The Curse

Kininonke ‘Kini’ Shandu is a South African radio and television presenter, entrepreneur, and actor best known for his acting role as ‘Ndlovu’, a hypocrite and conniving man in Mzansi Magic’s telenovela Umkhokha:The Curse. He is also known for co-hosting the weekday show The Big Bang on Gagasi FM. 

This KwaZulu-Natal-born star was born on October 6, 1985, He will be turning 39 years of age as of 2024. He is the founder of the Sebenza Women’s Awards. Information regarding his education is currently unknown.

Shandu made his acting debut in 2016 when he was cast in the recurring role of Shaun, a lawyer, on the SABC 1 Zulu soap opera Uzalo.

Kini made his television presenting debut in 2017, co-hosting (with Tumelo Mothotoane) the SABC1 talk show Daily Thetha, which replaced the long-running programme Shift in February that year.

Kini once revealed in an interview that he has learned a lot about acting since he started shooting Umkhokha in December 2022. He was so excited to get a chance to appear on Umkhokha: The Curse, and getting this role has taught him many things, and he wants to grow more in acting. 

He said his love of acting has developed to the point where he wants to go as far as producing TV dramas and movies.

This former Daily Thetha and popular radio personality is a father and husband; he is married to a beautiful woman named Andile Khanyile. They tied the knot in a traditional wedding ceremony (umkhehlo) in Kwa Nongoma, KwaZulu Natal, in December 2023.
